Beginning Obedience

The Beginning Obedience class is available as part of the Apprentice Membership. It is our most popular class and comes highly recommended by most of the veterinarians in Columbus and the surrounding area. Each session is 8 weeks long. The first night is an Orientation for handlers only, (no dogs), and then 7 consecutive weeks with you and your dog. You must be present for Orientation, otherwise you will not be able to continue in the class. Class cost is $150.

THE GOAL -

The Orientation class will last approximately one hour,  where beginning excercises will be demonstrated, handouts and homework, will be provided. Dogs are normally assigned to a class based on size. However, if you have a time preference noted on your application, we will do our best to accommodate you, if possible.

THIS FIRST CLASS IS A REQUIRED ATTENDANCE. If you do not attend the first class (Orientation), you will not be able to participate in the remaining classes and we will contact you to find the next appropriate class for you and your dog.  No refunds will be issued. Please remember, dogs do not attend this first class, Orientation.

Enrollment in each class is limited to a small number of dogs, and we will not "hold" a spot for anyone until we receive a paid application. Participants must pre-register,

Please select the Beginning Obedience class on the Membership tab above to sign up.  Most classes typically fill 10 days before Orientation. If the class is full when we receive your application and payment, we will contact you to discuss other options.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Any cancellations must be received no later than 48 hours prior to the Class Start Date (noted in the table above). No refunds will be issued after this.

VACCINATION RECORDS
We also require that all dogs are current on vaccinations, including DH-PP, Bordetella, and Rabies. The class application includes a vaccination history form that must be signed by your Veterinarian. Alternatively, you may provide the immunization record provided by your Veterinarian. You may return the Vaccination History form to us by uploading it with your application, or you may bring it on Orientation night (the first week).   Please note that we must have these records before your dog will be allowed in the building.

We hope you will decide to join us for this exciting and rewarding Beginning Obedience Class. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact CATCapprenticemembership@gmail.com.
