Some searches will be more challenging than what dogs/handlers will encounter at a trial. Everything will be focused on building fun and motivation for HD teams while also working to develop a better understanding of each dog's unique alert. Dogs will need to already be accustomed to finding handler-scented cotton balls, as we'll be using both Advanced and Excellent setups. Handlers will typically need 3 cotton balls for each class. ***SW Novice and Beyond - Prerequisite: Dogs must be on odor (Birch). Class is appropriate for those just completing Intro to Odor and/or teams working at the Novice/Advance SW class level. Class will work on solidifying indications, adding height and search complexity (level appropriate), and adding odors (Anise, Clove, Cypress). Note: No Scent Work ODOR may be used in either building unless handled by an instructor certified in CATC’s “Odor Handling Process”. |
